errol walker

Errol Walker was born in St. Mary and attended Water Valley Primary School. Walker is self-taught and has experimented with many different media like powder paints, watercolour, enamel, crayon and pencils. In 1980, Walker became involved with the Trafalgar Artist Cooperative in New Kingston where his paintings were publicly noticed. Walker entered the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) National Visual Arts Competition and Exhibition in 1985, receiving gold, silver and bronze medals; and silver awards in 1988. In 1999, 2002 and 2003, Walker was awarded numerous merit awards in the same JCDC exhibition. He has exhibited at the Ocho Rios Branch Library Art Committee Annual Exhibition, achieving places in all major prize areas. Walker also participated in the Young Generation exhibition held at the Mutual Life Gallery in Kingston, and also held a one-man show at the opening of the Jamaica Building Society Branch, in Port Maria.

Presently, many of his paintings can be found in local and international collections and galleries.
