Workshops at Olympia

As part of our commitment to supporting the arts in Jamaica, The Olympia Gallery has hosted a number of artist-led creative workshops exploring a variety of artistic mediums. Each workshop features an invited artist who has experience in their respective medium as a lead facilitator. Olympia has also been open to collaborations for such workshops and offers the gallery space at a rental rate , enabling artists to lead their own workshops. 

Artist2Artist × Playhaus Club Charcoal Drawing Workshop

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, The Olympia Gallery hosted the Artist2Artist × Playhaus Club Charcoal Drawing Workshop, bringing together artists and creatives for an afternoon of live drawing and timed sketching exercises. Facilitated by Teoni and Rochena, the workshop encouraged observation, skill development, and creative exchange, fostering a collaborative environment where participants connected through the shared practice of drawing.

Curator's eye: Printmaking Workshop

On Saturday, January 31, 2026, The Olympia Gallery concluded its Curator's Eye exhibition series with a Printmaking & Writing workshop led by Chinelle Miller and Sonn Ngai. Through reflective writing, storytelling, collage, and handmade Styrofoam printmaking, participants transformed personal memories into visual and written expressions, creating an afternoon of thoughtful dialogue, experimentation, and collaborative artistic practice.

Curator's eye: Pottery Workshop

On Saturday, January 24, 2026, The Olympia Gallery hosted Curator's Eye: Ceramic/Pottery workshop led by Akeem Johnson and Kyle Gooden. Through the creation of ceramic vessels inspired by Daruma dolls, participants explored themes of intention, perseverance, and personal aspiration, crafting meaningful talismans while engaging in a reflective and hands-on introduction to ceramic practice.

Curator's eye: Crochet & Weaving Workshop

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, The Olympia Gallery hosted Curator's Eye: Crochet and Weaving workshop led by Kokab Zohoori-Dossa and Kobi B. Bailey. Participants of all skill levels explored the exhibition theme Eyes through crochet and weaving, experimenting with colour, pattern, and texture while engaging in a collaborative and welcoming environment that encouraged creativity, conversation, and shared learning.

Curator's eye: Collage Workshop

​​​​On Saturday, January 10, 2026, Curator's Eye: Collage Workshop brought together artists and creative enthusiasts for an engaging afternoon of exploration and experimentation. Led by Justeen Bailey and Suzanna Missenberger, participants responded to the theme Eyes through collage, producing thoughtful and expressive works while fostering meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and creative exchange at The Olympia Gallery.
